A Note From The Pastor
Several years ago I shared with you the fact that One Great Hour of Sharing and I were born on the same day. As a result, I usually think of OGHS as my special offering. This year, the theme for the offering materials is based on the words of Jesus found in Matthew 25: "Then the King will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’” There you go. If we think of the things that Jesus said, that is one of the ones that means we need to keep giving. And One Great Hour of Sharing is one of the ways we can join with sisters and brothers in faith to do just that. Think of it! All those people in need and we can give just a little and someone else can give just a little and before you know it we have done what Jesus asked us to do – together. That passage goes on. When someone asks, “when did we do all that?” the king answers: “Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.” So, my challenge to you is: read the materials that will be available each Sunday, think and pray about what you are able to give, and then come on March 26 to worship together and give your gift in Jesus’ name!
