A Note From The Pastor
“….but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness….Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet, so that others may not trip.” (Hebrews 12:10b, 12-13a) I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that we’ve come to the time “after Easter” in the blink of an eye. We often joke in the office that things will slow down “after Easter.” It doesn’t happen, but we say it anyway. Here’s the writer to the Hebrew Christians saying that it’s not going to slow down ever! And, indeed, they shouldn’t relax and quit striving for good. Sometimes in the church we look at the summer as a time when we can “let up” a little on doing so much. We got through Advent and Christmas and then Lent and Easter and finally we’re going to celebrate Pentecost and then have time to be involved in other things. But, folks, I know that God is faithful and doesn’t ever take a break! And we are asked by our Christ to keep on keeping on. And here is the writer to the Hebrew church saying “don’t let up.” So, my challenge to us this month, which is really God’s challenge, is to: strengthen our weak knees and feeble arms and keep on being faithful to God’s church this month and into the summer and even beyond that! My goodness what a wonderful thing it would be if that happened. Pastor Nancy
