A Note From The Pastor
Time seems to pass quickly these days. In fact, I have wondered at times if I will be able to get everything done that needs doing. There are bulletins and sermons and articles and meetings and visits and the list goes on and on. You may feel the same way. The list of things to do seems to take over. But let me suggest one more thing for us to do in this season. Take some time! Sit and breathe. Listen to some Christmas music or a great symphony or some good jazz. Read the meditation in the book you received from the church. Sit in silence and just take in God’s goodness. The time of waiting in Advent is usually so filled with extra things that we don’t focus on the waiting. And with the horrific happenings that are in the news, we often don’t take the time to wait for the coming of Christ. So, friends, my challenge to you this month is: take some time to sit and wait. The first Sunday of Advent we will hear these words as the first candle is lit: “Be always on the watch, and pray.” Take some time! And breathe deep of God’s love. Pastor Nancy
