November 1 We will be recognizing new members on Sunday, November 1. If you would like to join, please contact the church office at 352-3448. Spencerport Ecumenical Food Shelf
The current food needs are: corn bread mix, canned fruit, pudding, jello, canned meat, stew, chili, hash, rice and cookies. Any donation is always greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about the Food Shelf or would like to donate a gift of money, please contact Nancy Wilcox at nwilcox101@hotmail.com or call 391-3082. Anyone in need should call 277-4917. Medicine Bottles for Malawi The Malawi Project is a health-focused non-profit organization that will send your used plastic prescription pill bottles to Malawi, where pharmacies and hospitals use only torn pieces of paper to wrap the medicine in or just hand the pills out loosely. I know I don't like throwing away empty medicine bottles, and they can't be re-used in our country, so I was happy to learn that I could help out a country in need and not add to our landfills. There will be a box for the bottles next to the Food Shelf box. If possible, please remove the labels by putting them in boiling water. If that's not possible, we will still accept them. By giving your old prescription bottles, you will be helping families in a third world country to keep their medicines clean, safe, and out of reach of small children. WOMEN'S GUILD

NEIGHBORS IN NEED OFFERING
October 4th The Neighbors in Need offering, which we will receive on October 4th, supports the UCC's ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. A portion of this offering is used to fund a wide array of local and national justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects throughout the United States. This offering also supports the UCC's Council for American Indian Ministries (CAIM). Today there are 20 UCC congregations on reservations and one urban multi-tribal UCC congregation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. These churches and their pastors are supported by CAIM. Neighbors in Need helps make another world possible. It needs your support. |
