Sign-up sheet in Fellowship Hall on bulletin board or call the Church office at (585) 352-3448.
You could find our teens at our 3rd annual Plastic Lakes Project on Ontario Beach in April! Forty people including three churches (Spencerport UCC, Fairport UCC and the Ogden Presbyterian Church) and the Fidelity Triangle youth all joined together to collect nearly 70 pounds of trash off the sand and in the park! The weather was perfect, Benito's pizza was dee-lish! Thanks to Sharon Dunn for pulling this all together and special thanks to MacKenzie Lynk of the Plastic Lakes Project for her leadership!
We couldn’t pass up this important annual event. Pastor Michael will bless kids’ school backpacks outside our church on Thursday evening September 3rd from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Families should drive up in front of church and stop at the sidewalk, roll down the car window and hold up the back pack. Pastor will say a blessing and give each pack a “blessed” tag. START THE 2020 SCHOOL YEAR OFF RIGHT!
THE BIKE IS BACK! Our Board of Christian Ed has put our little purple bike back out front of our church, and in its basket are small workbooks! Children that walk by can help themselves to one. There is a label with our church’s contact info on the back. Check it out!
CHURCH WORLD SERVICE TOOLS OFFERING Sunday – June 21st
The Tools Offering is a special mission opportunity to assist people in need around the world. Your contributions provide the means for them to gain the resources and develop the skills necessary to sustain themselves and their families and to build viable communities.
The Tools Offering helps to provide small tools, seedlings, water pumps, basic farm implements, training, etc.
Beginning the week of June 8, the church office will be on summer hours. The office will be closed on Mondays and Fridays. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8. Please call ahead before coming to church to be sure someone is here.
We are trying to make our banking deposits more efficient. Therefore, we are asking that every single time you write a check to our church - for whatever purpose - please make it payable to FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.
Then...on the “memo line” (bottom left)...write the reason for your check. For example: pledge/offering; CROP Walk; Penny Jar; NIN; Blankets; Tools; Strengthen the Church; OGHS; Christmas Fund; to name a few.
Thanks so much to each of you for helping us at this difficult time. It is most appreciated.
The proceeds from our May Penny Jar collection will also be designated for Lollypop Farm. They need our help supporting them. See additional information below:
Shelters are still caring for animals even though most have closed their doors to the public. But as they lay off staff, much of the work (cleaning, feeding and walking) is falling to skeleton crews. Meanwhile, adoption events and fundraisers which are the life blood of these non-profits have been cancelled. It couldn't have come at a worse time.
March is typically when pregnant animals and litters of unwanted kittens and puppies start showing up. It's really overwhelming for most shelters out there because all these litters start coming in on a daily basis. When space is severely limited, euthanasia becomes a population control tool.
As people lose their jobs and possibly their homes, many will be forced to give up their pets. Recently in the news, it was noted that some families, concerned that their pets may be exposed to the virus have been abandoning them at the shelter. Please consider donating to Lollypop Farm through our Penny Jar funds this month. You can mail a check in any amount made out to the church, and we will total the donations and send one check from the church account.
