PALM SUNDAY
In the Greco-Roman culture of the Roman Empire, the palm branch was a symbol of triumph and victory. When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the people greeted him as “the One who comes in the name of the Lord.”
When we begin the commemoration of Holy Week, we begin with remembering the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. This year we will wave the palms throughout our worship as we remember the wonder of the coming of our Christ who came "in the name of the Lord." Then those palms will go home with each of us to be prayer reminders as we remember the stories of that week.
Come share with us as we celebrate on March 29. Help us to remember. Share with us on this Palm Sunday.
