Carolyn Mazzoto and Don Decker will be among the honorees at the "GRCC Faith in Action" celebration dinner Jun 06, 2011. ![]() Carolyn is a highly visible and very involved member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Spencerport. She is a member of our choir, volunteers as a lay reader, a great storyteller to both children and adults alike, and serves the church as a board member working with outreach to our community and greater world. In addition, Carolyn is our annual CROP Walk coordinator, not only coordinating, but also walking every year. She regularly volunteers at the Salem Nutrition Center and gets involved in many community activities. The congregation is very blessed to have someone with her talents and energy. She truly does put her faith into action in many, many ways ![]() Don has repeatedly, over the years, demonstrated his faith in action through his actions and the deeds he has performed in our church. He has served as an usher, a greeter, helped with the coffee hour and was the elevator attendant for many years. He has frequently been a lay reader. He taught our young students Sunday School classes for several years. He has substitute taught for the Adult Sunday School Class as needed and attends the class the rest of the time. He is currently serving on the Church History Committee. He is a member of the Retired Men’s Group, helping the group maintain and clean our church each week. He is present for all Memorial Services held in the church as well as all weddings. He acts as a greeter, operates the elevator as needed, cleans up and locks up the church after these services. Don selflessly gives of his time and his talents even though he has several health issues. Don has shared his love of God with all of us and has been a shining example of faith in action.
