PASTOR ALAN TO HOLD A CONGREGATIONAL RETREAT
You are all invited to participate in a three hour Rediscovering Our Purpose Congregational Retreat following church from 12-3 on Sunday, June 3. The focus of this retreat will be in addressing two of the key developmental tasks transitional congregations should complete as they journey forward. Coming to Terms with History – It is important for congregations to know their history, so that they can appreciate their heritage and be aware of the issues and concerns that need to be resolved in order to move freely in the future. Discovering a New Identity – Identity is the task of understanding “who we are now in our present context and what it is we understand God is calling us to be.” It is the task of developing a vision to which a congregation is being called. Much of the worship service that day will be used to set the stage for our efforts in the afternoon, while the retreat time will be spent exploring the questions:
A soup lunch will be available during the fellowship time, and we’ll begin at 12 sharp. The more of you who are able to attend will only make this time more meaningful. Please either sign up on the sign up sheet in the Fellowship Hall or call the church office at 352-3448. Comments are closed.
