Are you aware that by 1817, some of the new hymns were:
“I Sing the Mighty Power of God”
“Our God, Our Help in Ages Past” and
“Love Divine, All Loves Excelling”?
Were you aware that some churches had “in kind” offerings that were then shared with the preacher for his next meal?
This information and some other will be shared on January 22 when we celebrate the history of the town of Ogden and the church. While this congregation wasn’t around in 1817, there were churches here in the area and we will share in worship set at that time.
We invite those of you who are able to come share with us on that Sunday. Come in costume, if you so choose. Come ready to learn a bit about the worship of that era. Come to share in worship of our God of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
The Annual Meeting of the First Congregational Church UCC of Spencerport will be held immediately following worship on January 15, 2017. The purpose of the meeting will be to review the annual reports of the officers and boards of the church, to review and approve the 2017 budget, and to approve the slate of officers and boards for 2017.
