_ CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP
5:30 pm & 11:00 pm
The early worship is geared for families with children and will include some special music and sharing from some families.
The later worship will feature music from our Chancel Choir and a more traditional format.
We will end both times of worship with the time-honored singing of “Silent Night” and the lighting of the candles.
_ Christmas Dinner
December 5 at 6:00 at Slayton Place. That’s the time and place that all the women of the church are invited to share in the Guild Christmas Party. We’ll order from the menu and pay for our own meals. The Guild will furnish the dessert. There is a sign-up sheet in the Fellowship Hall for those who would like to attend. If you would like to attend, but need a ride for that evening’s entertainment, please let that be known and we’ll find someone able to help you come.
Christmas Cookie Walk
And, the Women’s Guild will be offering their annual Cookie Walk as the party is happening on December 16 (see Christmas Revue article for details)! For those of you who may not know about the Cookie Walk: volunteers are invited to bring home-baked cookies that will be placed on tables. Folks can purchase decorated tins and then fill them with cookies they would like from those tables. It is a chance for those who don’t have time to bake to have home-made treats for the holidays.
Monday, December 3 – noon – bring brown bag lunch.
_ JOINT CHRISTMAS REVUE
December 16th – 3:30 pm
Mark your calendars for December 16th at 3:30 p.m. We will be having our first ever Christmas Revue. It’s sort of like a talent show for Christmas. We have invited other area churches to join us and take part in music, skits, readings, and other sharing. The children will be invited to take part in a tableau and sing a familiar carol. It’s going to be something you won’t want to miss.
Following the program, we will gather downstairs to share some treats and fellowship as we celebrate as a church family.
_ BLUE CHRISTMAS MEDITATION
December 6th - 7:00 pm – Chapel
While the holiday season is a time of fun and celebration for many, there are many others who find it to be a time of pain and grief. Again this year there will be a time for worship and meditation for those who are grieving or in pain. Everyone is invited to this quiet worship on December 6th at 7:00 in the chapel. This will be a worship that reminds us of God’s care in the midst of the festivities of Christmas. Incorporating silence, music and scripture, this candle-light worship will help us to contemplate peace and comfort that comes from our God.
_ The Pastor will be sharing communion with many of our home-bound folks during the month of December. If you would be willing to go with her to share this sacrament, please call the church office and let us know what date you would be available. The dates available are: Tuesday, the 4th; Thursday, the 6th; Friday, the 7th; Wednesday, the 12th; Thursday, the 13th; Wednesday, the 19th; Friday, the 21st; and Wednesday, the 26th. The times would be early afternoon and we would go to two to three places. Share in this time if you are able!
