CHRISTMAS AT SALEM NUTRITION CENTER
Bags of personal care items are provided for the guests who come to the Salem “soup kitchen” Nutrition Center during the Christmas dinner. Over the past many years, we as a Church family have provided items to help fill these bags.
This year it is our goal to provide 100 pair of crew/sport men's socks!! They should be black or white in sizes large to extra large!!! The Board of Christian Action will have a basket in the Fellowship Hall with an appropriate sign on it where you may place your socks.
We thank you in advance for your generous support as always. Deadline December 1.
CHRISTMAS TREE PROJECT
Hats, Mittens, Gloves, Scarves, Socks
Once again we will have a bare tree in our Fellowship Hall. And we are asking that you help us decorate it with hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, and warm socks of any size. We will distribute all that we collect to various agencies that can help get them to folks who need them. We can make someone’s winter a little brighter with our “decorations.” Please help us decorate our space as we think of others in our area who will be warmer for our giving.
Spencerport Food Shelf
The current food needs are: soups of all kinds, tomato products, hash/chili, pudding/jello, tea, hot drinks, cookies, meal mixes and stuffing.
The Food Shelf donates a Thanksgiving dinner to every family that we serve. As in the past, we are asking area churches to provide the turkeys. The drop-off date for the turkeys is Saturday, November 22 between 9-9:30 am. The Food Shelf is located behind Lamont Trophy Store in TOPS Plaza. If you would like to donate a turkey, but can not drop it off, please call Nancy Wilcox at 391-3082.
It is good to gather with our brothers and sisters of faith to share in Thanksgiving worship. This year we will share together at the Adams Basin United Methodist Church on November 23 at 7:00 p.m. If you are able to join us, you will be blessed.
HANGING OF THE GREENS
Sunday, November 23 following worship
Mark your calendar and join the fun following worship in helping to decorate the sanctuary for Christmas. Then afterwards, join us for soup and bread. Everyone is welcome.
Veterans' Day Program
Join us on Monday, November 10th, at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall.
This program is open to everyone - men and women. The Guild is hosting this program with a speaker from the Monroe County American Legion Auxiliary. She will speak on the veterans programs and facilities in our area, as well as our state. We look forward to seeing you there.
