During our worship on March 31, we will receive the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. The theme for this year’s OGHS offering is: “More Than We Can Imagine.” As we share in giving with brothers and sisters of faith in many denominations, let us remember that we are all giving in the name of Christ. Many people need our help, and this is one way of giving to them. On March 31, give to help those in need here at home and around the world. EMERGENCY CLOSURES
Submitted by Holly Bauer-Mergen The January snowstorm weekend pointed out that we didn’t have a systematic way of contacting everyone about canceling church and/or church activities. The church is now registered with WROC (channel 8), WHEC (channel 10), and WHAM (channel 7 and 13, and affiliated radio stations, etc.), as follows:
Diane has also created an email group that permitted us to send out an email to those for whom we had an address; we’re working on a way that that can be used by the minister and/or moderator in the future without her having to come into the office. That left us with some folks that we had to make phone calls to. I also know of at least one informal telephone tree that was used by some members. So, to simplify where we can, if you didn’t get an email and have an email address to share, please let us know, so we can reduce the number of phone calls. Also, if you were not contacted by any method, please let us know, so that we can add you to one list or the other. If you think we need to set up a telephone tree to cover everyone, your thoughts would be welcome. Thanks. |
