By 1867 when the village of Spencerport was founded, the Congregational Church was here. Although they had previously been a part of the Presbyterian Church (which later became Ogden Presbyterian Church), there were several folks who desired to be a part of the Congregationalist movement. And so in 1850 this church was born.
By 1867 the main portion of the present building was here (the first building having been destroyed by fire in 1852). So the history of the congregation fits into the history of the village.
On May 7, we will celebrate our heritage as a church in the village of Spencerport. We invite any of you who are willing to dress in period costumes to do so. Come to share in worship similar to what they might have experienced 150 years ago. Come and celebrate our history.
