The book we will be discussing is I’ll Be Back When Summer’s in the Meadow: A WWII Chronicle Volume II 1944 compiled & edited by Melanie Ippolito. In January of 1944, the United States was preparing for its invasion of France. The author's father, an aviation student in the United States Army Air Corps, was in his final months of training at North Carolina State College in Raleigh, North Carolina.
