On or by August 1, there will be “no parking” on West Avenue.  The reason is that the NYSDOT will be posting the Canal Bridge on Union Street with a weight restriction of 20 tons from Monday August 1 to September 1, 2011.  The village and town had to come up with an alternative way for TOPS and other major businesses in the community to bring their trucks into the village. That alternative brings their trucks from Ridge Rd. to Hinkleyville Rd. and proceeds south on to Washington Street, over the Adams Basin bridge and left on Lyell Street, which goes directly into the Spencerport DPW road that exits on to West Avenue in the village.  Because these trucks are huge, there will not be enough room for people to go both ways, if there are cars parked on West Ave.  Hence, the new rule regarding “no parking” on West Avenue, hopefully, temporarily.
